My name is Mathew. I was diagnosed with NVLD around second or third grade. I have always struggled with math, getting lost, athletics to a degree and also maintaining organization. This disorder has impacted me in my initial chosen careers, and also in my academic life both at the High School and Collegiate level as well.

My story is unique in the various challenges I have undertaken and to what degree I succeeded in them. Often times I constantly notice gaps in my professional and academic life, as to what I am good at, and what I am not good at. These gaps can be significant which is showcased in my YouTube Video.  NVLD has taught me how to be resilient and I have chosen to maintain a positive outlook in regards to this disorder. I have created a YouTube Channel in order to bring about a positive outlet for this and other “Neuro A-typicals” and also to raise awareness.

This disorder has impacted my life in a variety of ways, some positive and some negative. I have a diverse professional background to include military service and law enforcement, with that said I am currently focusing on education as well as becoming a Foreign Service Officer. I am a proud Navy Spouse, and as such have moved three times in the past three years! NVLD has impacted my professional and academic life, and has taught me how to be resilient , and I have chosen to maintain a positive outlook in regards to this disorder. I have created a YouTube Channel in order to bring about a positive outlet for this and other “Neuro A-typicals” and also to raise awareness.
