Biography: I was diagnosed with NVLD when I was 13 years old. I struggled a lot with having support from my family because we came from an immigrant background. However I did not formally find out about the disability until I was 23 years old when I was struggling a lot in school and in my own personal life and at work. It was only when I was digging through my old files as I was moving out of my parent’s home I found documents dating back to when I was 13 years old. It was only then I finally found out what my disability is. I had to be my own self-advocate. I had to learn the hard way from life’s lessons and grow from them.
